Hideaki Moriyama Structural Biology Laboratory

Welcome to my lab!

How much entropic force is involved in biological processes? I am attempting to answer this question by performing studies at the sub-nano scale. Presently, I am using the following three groups of proteins as models: hemoglobin, dUTP pyrophosphatase, and influenza matrix protein 2.

I am serving as the Chair of the X-ray Safety Subcommittee in the university. I also occasionally serve as a reviewer for scientific journals, research projects, and research grants.

I teach bioinformatics at basic and advanced levels. In class, I always guide my students about how to crystallize their ideas and identify specific problems to solve. This makes the understanding of bioinformatics useful.
